1. Realizing Resolution 59-NQ/TW – Enhancing the Effectiveness of New Generation FTA Implementation: Resolution 59 clearly states the urgent need for the synchronized development of fundamental industries. In new generation FTAs ​​such as CPTPP or EVFTA, “Rules of Origin” are the most important barrier. 2. Train service officially resumes across Long Bien Bridge: On the evening of February 9th, the railway sector officially resumed train service across Long Bien Bridge. That same evening, train HP2 on the Hanoi – Hai Phong route entered Hanoi station as normal. Trains LP7/LP8 from Hanoi – Hai Phong/Hai Phong – Hanoi depart from and terminate at Long Bien station. Passengers with motorbikes can still go to Gia Lam station to take the train.

3. Implementation, Review, and Adjustment of the 2026 Economic Census Plan: On the morning of February 9th, a conference was held in Hanoi to implement, review, and adjust the 2026 Economic Census plan. The event, organized by the Central Steering Committee for the Economic Census, involved meetings with provincial steering committees to discuss, agree upon, and assign tasks to meet the requirement of early data release (expected on June 30th, 2026), seven months earlier than the planned date for the 2026 Economic Census (January 2027).

EVN signs EPC contract for Component 1 of Quang Trach II LNG Power Plant Project: On February 9th, in Hanoi, Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN), Power Project Management Board 2, and the Powerchina – Vietnam Machinery Installation Corporation (LILAMA) consortium held a signing ceremony for the EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Testing and Acceptance) contract for Component 1 (power plant) of the Quang Trach II Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Thermal Power Plant Project, with a total value of over VND 25,202 billion (including USD 639.8 million and VND 8,341 billion).

7. Vietnam Airlines launches direct flight from Hanoi to Amsterdam (Netherlands): On February 9th, Vietnam Airlines announced the launch of a direct flight connecting Hanoi and Amsterdam (Netherlands) starting in June 2026, marking the first time Vietnam has had a direct flight to the Netherlands. The operation of this route will increase the total number of direct routes from Vietnam to Europe to 12, connecting 8 destinations (Paris, Frankfurt, London, Munich, Milan, Copenhagen, Moscow, and Amsterdam).

8. Hanoi opens exhibition space for consumer products serving Tet: On the morning of February 9th, at the Dong Anh Commune Cultural and Sports Center (Hanoi), the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade, in coordination with the Dong Anh Commune People’s Committee, organized the program “Exhibition space for consumer products serving the Lunar New Year of the Horse – Spring Reunion”.

9. Nghe An hands over resettlement land to Mong ethnic minority households to build houses before Tet: After more than a month of implementation, the Pha Mut concentrated resettlement area construction project, with a total investment of approximately 8 billion VND and a planned area of ​​1.8 hectares, to urgently relocate 16 Mong ethnic minority families from Pha Mut village (Nhon Mai commune, Nghe An province) whose houses were swept away by flash floods in late July 2025, has basically completed the land leveling. On February 8th, the local Party committee and government organized a lottery and handed over the land to the first households to move into the resettlement area to build houses; striving to ensure that all households will have completed building their houses before the Lunar New Year of 2026.

Most businesses are dismantling factories and relocating from Bien Hoa 1 Industrial Park: Regarding the conversion of Bien Hoa 1 Industrial Park (Tran Bien Ward, Dong Nai Province) into an urban-commercial-service area and environmental improvement project, on February 9th, the Dong Nai Provincial Land Development Center announced that, following decisive action by relevant authorities, most businesses in Bien Hoa 1 Industrial Park have dismantled or are in the process of dismantling factories and relocating.
