Hanoi takes action against 3 establishments for violations related to food safety and product origin.

Specifically, Market Management Team No. 16, in coordination with the Bo De Ward Police, inspected Thanh Trung Fruits Co., Ltd. (located at 154 Phu Vien Street, Bo De Ward, Hanoi City). During the inspection, authorities discovered a shipment of imported yellow melons and green grapes, still in their original packaging, but without invoices or documents proving their legal origin. The total value of the infringing goods, based on the listed price, was over 11 million VND. Authorities proposed a fine of 20 million VND for the company.

Subsequently, Market Management Team No. 16, in coordination with the Viet Hung Ward Police, inspected Branch No. 1 of An Nhien 365 Trading and Investment Co., Ltd. (located at No. 3, Alley 11, Viet Hung Street, Viet Hung Ward, Hanoi City). The inspection revealed three violations: operating a food and beverage service without a Food Safety Certificate; selling 150 liters of alcohol of unknown origin; and selling alcohol with an alcohol content of 5.5% or higher for on-site consumption without proper registration. The total expected fine for this establishment is 62 million VND.

At another business establishment, Market Management Team No. 16, in coordination with relevant authorities, inspected a grocery and fruit business at 337 Nguyen Van Cu Street (Bo De Ward, Hanoi). During the inspection, authorities discovered the business selling various food items of unknown origin, such as frozen shrimp and fish worth nearly 6 million VND; and also selling imported food without invoices or documentation, such as seaweed, cocoa powder, and ginseng drinks worth nearly 6 million VND. The expected fine for this business is 14 million VND.

All the infringing goods at the three businesses were seized by authorities and ordered to be destroyed.

According to representatives from Market Management Team No. 16, current violations mainly focus on trading goods of unknown origin, smuggled goods, and goods that do not meet food safety standards. These are potential risks that directly affect consumer health and the business environment. In the coming time, Market Management Team No. 16 will continue to strengthen surprise inspections, focusing on high-risk food and beverage groups; and at the same time, strictly handle violations to protect consumer rights and maintain market stability and safety.
