Hanoi offers free parking at some locations to facilitate celebrations during the Lunar New Year (Year of the Horse) 2026.

Free parking is available at some historical sites and spring travel destinations.

To facilitate visits to Quan Thanh Temple for locals and tourists during the Lunar New Year of 2026 (Year of the Horse), the People’s Committee of Ba Dinh Ward has organized two free parking areas for bicycles and motorbikes.

The People’s Committee of Ba Dinh ward announced that there are two free parking areas for bicycles and motorbikes for residents and tourists visiting Quan Thanh Temple: the sidewalk of Thanh Nien Street (near the temple gate) and the grounds of Nguyen Tri Phuong Primary School (No. 190 Quan Thanh Street).

Free parking for bicycles and motorbikes will be available from February 14th (27th day of the 12th lunar month) until February 22nd (6th day of the Lunar New Year).

The People’s Committee of Ba Dinh ward stated that members of the Youth Union, militia, and school security guards will coordinate to assist in parking management; the ward police will develop a plan to ensure security and order at parking areas and surrounding areas.

To alleviate traffic congestion around the historical site and ensure safety and convenience for visitors, the People’s Committee of Van Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam Ward and the Van Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam Cultural and Scientific Activities Center have developed a plan for vehicle parking during the Spring Calligraphy Festival at Van Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam.

Accordingly, a free parking area will be set up at 9 Trinh Hoai Duc Street (Hang Day Stadium area), operating from February 17th to 22nd, 2026, from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM daily. The establishment of this free parking area is expected to help reduce illegal parking around the historical site during peak periods.

For motorbikes, parking areas are located in designated zones within the Garden of the Guardians, operating from February 14th to March 1st, 2026, from 7:30 AM to 8:00 PM daily. All parking areas are organized according to traffic flow management plans, ensuring security, order, and fire prevention.

To facilitate visits and tourism for residents and visitors during the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026, the People’s Committee of Cua Nam Ward has implemented free bicycle and motorbike parking areas at several schools in the area.

Specifically, Viet Duc High School, Tran Phu High School, Ngo Si Lien Junior High School, and Trung Vuong Junior High School have allocated basements and schoolyards as parking areas.

Youth union members, militia, and security forces are coordinating to ensure security and order, as well as fire prevention and control. The ward police are developing plans to ensure security and order, and traffic safety in the surrounding area.

The ward also stepped up efforts to raise awareness and guide people to park their vehicles in designated areas; ensuring environmental hygiene after the event.

The free parking period will be from 5 PM on February 16, 2026 to 1 AM on February 17, 2026, and from 9 AM to 8 PM on February 17 to 22, 2026 (i.e., the 1st to the 6th day of the first lunar month).

Free train and bus rides for passengers during Tet holiday starting February 14th.

Hanoi Metro, a limited liability company, announced that from February 14th to February 22nd, 2026 (i.e., from the 27th day of the 12th lunar month to the 6th day of the 1st lunar month), the company will provide 100% free transportation for passengers who purchase tickets through the Hanoi Metro app or directly at ticket counters.

On the same day, the Hanoi Department of Construction announced that the Hanoi City Traffic Management and Operation Center, in coordination with public bus transport companies, will implement a fare waiver for subsidized public transport for residents and tourists during the 2026 Lunar New Year holiday.

Specifically, the program applies to 128 subsidized bus routes in the city. The program will run for 9 days, from February 14th (Saturday) to February 22nd (Sunday). Passengers will receive a single-trip ticket at the fare for the route but will not have to pay the fare.
